Tamagawa Children’s Library was demolished and reconstructed in these 3 years. On April 17th, the new building reopened again, finally. Last Saturday, our member participated in becoming a volunteer in the event “World Picture Book Storytime”.
There were 2 books introduced in the event, entitled Parkit (Si Raja Burung yang Cerdik), written by Imam Kr. Moncol and Nyanyian Princess Samiya, written by Hikmat Sudjana and Nur Cililia. As a native Indonesian, sister Dian read the picture books to the guest kids and a library staff gave translational sentences in Japanese every one or two sentences.

In addition, we also introduced other Indonesian culture including Indonesian style “rock-paper-scissor”, some simple Indonesian vocabularies, and also mini performance of Angklung, a traditional music instrument from Indonesia. We played a simple song “Kira-kira boshi” which is the Japanese version of Twinkle-twinkle Little Star.
